Founded in 1925
Hapam is part of the Van Halteren Group. The company is an independent manufacturer of High Voltage Disconnectors and Earthing Switches for outdoor and indoor substations up to 800kV. To date, Hapam has supplied more than 300,000 disconnectors in over 125 countries worldwide. A large number of these disconnectors remain in service for more than 50 years.
To support customers across various regions, Hapam operates modern production facilities and maintains sales offices in the Netherlands, Poland, Vietnam and Canada. This international presence allows us to serve our global customer base efficiently and reliably.
Hapam maintains a policy of continuously improving disconnector design, both for AC and DC applications. All relevant information gathered from worldwide operating experience and customer specifications is incorporated into Hapam’s state‑of‑the‑art design. As a result, we provide our customers with engineering excellence, superior product quality, and dedicated after‑sales service whenever required.
Seamless Supply Chain
Hapam operates from modern and well-equipped premises that have recently been extended to increase production capacity. The company is able to manufacture disconnectors and earthing switches in an efficient, computer-controlled process in order to fulfill all market requirements.

1925
Hapam is founded
Hapam is established in the Netherlands and begins developing high‑voltage disconnectors and earthing switches.
2003
Acquisition of production in Poland (Łódź)
Production of high‑voltage disconnectors begins in Łódź within the ABB group in 1994. In 2003, Hapam officially takes over the Łódź manufacturing site, renaming it Hapam Poland Sp. z o.o.
2014
Establishment of Hapam Vietnam
Hapam Vietnam is registered in Hưng Yên province and begins producing electrical equipment including high‑voltage disconnectors.
2023
Hapam acquires EMSPEC
Hapam acquires EMSPEC, a major Canadian manufacturer of HV and MV switchgear. EMSPEC continues to operate as an independent brand and becomes Hapam’s North American production facility.
